Softtek Opens New Global Delivery Center in Wuxi, China

2009-07-30 From: businesswire

Softtek, a global provider of IT and business process solutions and the largest private IT service provider in Latin America, announced today the opening of a new global delivery center (GDC) in the city of Wuxi, located in the Jiangsu province in China. This marks Softtek's second GDC in China and ninth globally and is aimed at further strengthening its competitive position in the global sourcing industry through its Global Nearshore™ model.

This strategic move reinforces Softtek's commitment to not only expand its operations in China, but also generate opportunities in all of its GDCs in Mexico, China, Brazil, Argentina and Spain. With state-of-the-art access control and telecommunications infrastructure, the new facility is designed to serve the needs of its global clients and hosts some 200 workstations in its initial phase. Softtek plans to have the first team of 50 associates working on a project in September. The government of Wuxi and the Jiangsu province were key partners in setting up the facilities.

"We are very pleased to announce our second GDC in China and are thankful for the support and trust from the government of Wuxi in Softtek's business model," said Blanca Trevino, president and CEO of Softtek. "With the current global economic crisis, our clients are increasingly looking for ways to take advantage of our Global Nearshore™ model to diversify risks and achieve true cost savings. China not only contributes by providing very competitive conditions, but also represents a huge and strategic market for our clients worldwide. We are ready to support them with their plans in China."

Softtek acquired a China-based IT service provider in August 2007 and successfully integrated the two companies. Along with the existing GDC in Beijing, the new center will reinforce the company's capabilities in China, helping it to provide a high-quality, cost competitive and globally integrated solution.

"The proven value of our nearshore capacity in Latin America and Spain, for the US and European markets respectively, is now enhanced with additional capabilities in China. We now can provide the one-stop solution our clients have been demanding for their global sourcing needs," said Beni Lopez, CEO for Near Shore® Services of Softtek. "We are confident that this move will significantly boost our growth in all of our global delivery locations."

Softtek has earned a strong reputation in the IT & BPO global sourcing industry through its trademarked Global Nearshore™ model, which pairs world-class execution with global proximity to fill the gap left by India-centric outsourcing models.
