The group takes Environmental Protection and Information Security as the theme of its exhibition efforts for the CISIS. During the CISIS, the reporter met Mr. Tatsuya Tanaka, vice general manager of Fujitsu(China) Holdings Co. Ltd., and gained an understanding of this multinational group that has been in China since the very beginning of the reforme and opening up.
30 years of people-oriented innovation
One day in 1979, the courtyard of Tianjin Computing Center featured an atmosphere of joy due to the fact that a M160 computer was located in the center. That day is memorable to Fujitsu. 5 years after Fujitsu's participation into the Sino-Japanese submarine cable line project, its computer entered the China market for the first time.
30 years later, Fujitsu(China) has established platform solution centers (PSCs) in Shanghai and Hong Kong. In August 2007, Fujitsu (Nantong)was listed in the Shenzhen Stock Market.
Fujitsu's business focus has been shifted from hardware to turnkey solutions integrating software, hardware, consultancy and IT services. Its solutions are widely used in retail, manufacturing, medicine, telecommunication, government, transportation, energy, education and many other sectors.
According to Mr. Tatsuya Tanaka, Fujitsu has been innovative since it entered China market. Fujitsu believes that people play a major role in business operation. The Field Innovation integrates people, process and information technology to facilitate people to change their self-awareness and actions and enables continuous operational innovation after integration of people and IT. Adhering to this guideline, Fujitsu works with global partners to accelerate innovation on products and IT solutions and provide customers with all-around services meeting business requirements.
Advocator of environmental protection and security
When talking about Fujitsu's plans for the next period, Mr. Tatsuya Tanaka mentioned Fujitsu's program of saving energy and reducing emission. "We plan to reduce 7 million tons of carbon emission from 2007 to 2010," Mr. Tatsuya Tanaka remarked. " Fujitsu launched the Green Policy Innovation concept in December last year to free customer's system from environmental burden. The concept features a strategy of "freeing environmental burden through ICT". Best practices and technologies accumulated in the process will be provided to customers as ICT infrastructure and technological services."
Fujitsu's philosophy of environmental protection has been implemented in the complete product and service lifecycle. FUJITSU PRIMERGY green blade server is designed to meet customers' requirements on optimization of IT infrastructure, efficient investment in the system and minimum energy consumption of the server. Compared with rack mount servers with the same functions, it saves 87% cable. Compared with the system consisting of Fujitsu-made rack mount servers with the same functions, it saves 23% carbon dioxide emission.
Fujitsu has brought its palm vein identification technology to the CISIS 2008. This technology features more reliable security authentication enabled by non-contact efforts. It frees users from increasing passwords and is more reliable than finger-print identification and iris identification technologies. Slightly effected by temperature and other external impact, palm vein features a mistake rate lower than 0.00008% and a refuse rate lower than 0.01%.
CGM solution is a new product Fujitsu exhibited during the CISIS 2008. In the web2.0 era, consumers can freely express their ideas on companies, products and brands. The Fujitsu CGM solution facilitates companies in swiftly and efficiently acquiring feedback on products from the internet, being aware of the corporate image and crisis signals including negative comments on the internet as early as possible, and efficiently implementing crisis management.
Great results achieved during the CISIS
Fujitsu is committed to helping Chinese companies to solve problems in environmental protection and information security with its information technology. In addition to business operation, Fujitsu makes great efforts in making donations to Project Hope, building Hope elementary schools, planting trees, and other commonweal to enable itself a good Chinese citizen image. Fujitsu's corporate image will publicized through CISIS 2008.
