Since General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade’s coming into force to the beginning of 1994, 8 rounds talks of multilateral trade negotiation had been held. The average tariff of developed countries has been reduced from 36% to 47% and the average tariffs of developing countries and regions have dropped to 13% in the same term. The trade between member states accounts for more than 90% of world trade. According to the incomplete statistics, up to 100,000 kinds of goods have gained tariff concession in these 8 rounds talks. Meanwhile, the total value of world trade was increased by more than 10 times.
